It’s an easy two-hour drive from Anchorage to our door. Make air travel plans to Anchorage then either drive or take the train.
From the Parks Highway toward Fairbanks, take the Talkeetna Spur Road turnoff at mile 98. At mile 2 of the Talkeetna Spur Rd. turn left (West) onto Sunshine Road. We’re a mile and a half in at the end of the road - watch for the sign to Fireweed Station.

Our favorite way to get here is the old way, on the Alaska Railroad. Until 1964, the railroad was the only way to get to Sunshine, Alaska - where Fireweed Station is located.
During summer season, you may de-train daily at Talkeetna Station and we’ll pick you up.
During the winter schedule, the Alaska Railroad flag stop train departs Anchorage Saturdays and the first Thursday of every month at 8:30am, arriving at Fireweed Station around 11:15am. You may flag the return train to Anchorage on Sunday afternoons at about 4:30pm, arriving Anchorage around 7:30pm.
The Alaska Railroad offers the only remaining flag stop service in the U.S. - don’t miss this rare opportunity!
